Welcome to the Next Decade of BPM- IBM Acquires Lombardi

A decade ago, Lombardi was founded with a single mission: to help companies become more efficient, effective, and competitive by using Business Process Management to improve their key business processes. It has been rewarding to see the results of our efforts – we’re extremely pleased with the many successes we have helped our customers and partners achieve over these last 10 years.

In 2010, we’ll bring the next decade of BPM to an entirely new level. IBM is acquiring Lombardi, bringing Lombardi’s award-winning products and services into the comprehensive IBM BPM portfolio. Lombardi Teamworks and Blueprint complement and extend IBM’s existing solutions for business agility. And becoming part of the IBM family gives Lombardi the opportunity to reach out to even more companies around the globe and help them solve their process pains and run their businesses more effectively.

Hello My Name is BPM - Nametag

A Great Fit

Our two companies, our customers, and industry analysts see the promise of combining Lombardi and IBM’s strengths:

As we begin the second decade of BPM the issue isn't so much 'what is BPM?' but rather 'help me do BPM.' It's about having the vision to build, the discipline to execute, and the scale to deliver on the promise. I believe that only the combination of IBM and Lombardi have all those core attributes."

— Phil Gilbert, President, Lombardi

“Lombardi has built a world-leading team and product, and the passion and vision that the team has is an incredibly good fit for us. Together, we will take what's created here [at Lombardi] and deliver it all over the world.”

— Craig Hayman, general manager for IBM Application and Integration Middleware

“Lombardi is a very strategic acquisition for IBM, and it shows they are committed to being number one in this space. This market is really taking off, as companies look at how they get work done and try to improve their processes and have more compliance and more transparency. IBM needed Lombardi, and I can't think of a better place for Lombardi to have ended up than with IBM.”

— Connie Moore, Forrester Research

“BPM is not just a smart, collaborative and fast way to improve business process – it also solves the communications gap that has plagued business functions and IT for decades by creating a common intuitive work space. The addition of Lombardi’s agile, business facing process management capabilities to IBM’s comprehensive SOA & BPM portfolio will provide the best of both worlds to customers like Aviva - fast time to market with enterprise scalability.”

— Toby Redshaw, CIO, Aviva Group
